This fictitious Movember ad came out of an "Advertising Concepts" class, and was aimed to spread awareness about men's health. Far too many men don't get prostate checkups or back out of their physicals out of fear and I decided to take an approach that I felt encapsulated many different audiences – an older demographic (the most vulnerable to prostate cancer), LGBTQIA+, people of colour, etc. I decided to show them in this video because representation is just as important as the message itself. I got my friend to record the voiceover for me, and I compiled stock footage that I felt sold my message, to an appropriate song "More Than A Feeling". The concept was that physicals involve "feeling" you physically, but really what's worse than the fear of getting the physical is the emotional toll of finding out you have cancer.
